• About ChelseaLee Photography

Welcome to my blog, I am so glad you found me! ChelseaLee is my first and middle name. I'm a mom, wife, friend, colorful, patient and loving. I like coffee with my cream and sugar, I love candles but hate to burn them, I'm addicted to kids books and think I like them more than my boys, I'm a huge Baylor fan, I love to jam out and sing really loud and I love a challenge. I live in the BBQ capital of Texas, Lockhart, while serving the actual capital of Texas, Austin, and it's surrounding areas. I love photography because it lets me be creative, I get to work with squishy little babies and energetic children and I get the chance to capture and gift memories and moments that families treasure forever. I've never met a stranger and I treat my clients like friends; it's the only way to truly capture the very essence of you. I look forward to meeting you!

Editing LOVE | Austin Children’s Photographer

I am going to show a before and after of a recent photo I just reedited.  This picture was edited solely with Michelle Kane Actions!  When I first found her actions, I immediately fell in LOVE.  I’m talking head of heels, love at first sight kinda LOVE!  I have always imagined my photography at a certain level, color, vibrance, intensity and Michelle Kane actions have brought that to me.  I have had them since December and slowly started using them, but after following her recent editing video and tweaking it a little I don’t think I can go back any other way.  I am not affiliated with Michelle Kane Photography, nor do I know her on a personal level.  I paid for my actions and I am proud of them and wanted to spread the love for her, and my new found editing that I have always dreamed my photography would look like.  She is an inspiration and it makes me super excited to start this new editing process and growth.  Check her out and let me know what you think about my most recent edit.

Close Up Lifestyle Portraits | Austin Children’s Photographer

I’ve joined a blogging group over at Clickin Moms.  If you are a photog or mom tog or just enjoy photography, I encourage you to go over there and check it out.  Clickin Moms has so much to offer with advice, tutorials, forums and workshops with a combination of professional photographers, hobbyists and moms.  Our group got started late so this challenge is from January and it is close up portraiture.  Since my blog is mainly posts of my professional work, I thought it would be fun to use these challenges for my every day photography.  I’ve attached two pictures because the proud/fair momma I am can’t post one baby without the other.  :)  Evan is my oldest at two and a half.  He is so smart, caring, sweet, polite and stubborn.  Lol.  Maybe stubborn is a strong word because it might just be the terrific two stage we are in but this kid will seriously only look at me and the camera if a) its his idea or b) I have just put my camera down.  So, this picture was easy to get of him and his beautiful eyes and lashes because it didn’t require any attention from him.  :) Oh, how I treasure this little face and will be so sad to see it turn more into a little boy than a baby.

The second picture is of my youngest Ethan, who just turned one in January.  This little guy is also smart, cute as all get out, cuddly and determined.  He can also be a little spit fire when he gets too determined (AKA doesn’t get his way).  Ha!  I don’t know if you have ever heard the Jeff Foxworthy line when he is talking about the kids throwing themselves down on the floor and calmly walking up to them and saying, “where are your parents?” but Ethan gives me this opportunity quite often because throwing himself on the floor is apparently his way of coping with things.  He throws himself on the floor if he’s mad, if he doesn’t get his way, if he gets frustrated, if Evan takes something from him and the list goes on.  I’m not one to get frazzled too easy so I just say, “I”m sorry” and leave him be until he decides he isn’t getting any attention from it or it gets old.  As you can tell in the second picture, he had a moment and so did I.  :)  I just laid on the ground with him and took the opportunity to capture my little man in one of his moods.  This phase will also pass and I want to make sure I have blackmail, I mean the memories of this  little man in the first stages of his determination.  This is a great personality trait that will take him far in life, we just have to get over this little speed bump or boy lying on the ground.  Hehe.  Now head on over to my friend Sabrina’s blog and see her take on close up portraiture and give her some blog love!!

Newborn Adlen | Austin Newborn Photographer

Little girls are SO much fun!  I don’t think I will ever say it enough.  This little girl did SO good at her shoot and isn’t she just a doll?  She was born right before Christmas so when she came to see me we had to do a fun Christmas and winter theme with that fabulous winter bonnet from Modiste Bee.  I’ve ordered a few things from Modiste Bee and her stuff is definitely quality, creative and unique.  Stop by and say hi and send her some love from me.  Meet Adlen…

Lifestyle Newborn | Austin Newborn Photographer

Lifestyle shoots are so much fun.  Some what new to me but very exciting because it puts you on the spot to be creative.  I love a challenge and that is what lifestyle shoots give me.  This little guy was so sweet and can you tell he loved being curled up next to mom or dad.  :)  When hunting around the house for spots to shoot, I found this clock above the mantle and knew instantly what an amazing shot we could get with it and the birthday information on the inside just adds that much more.  (It’s also a composite shot, meaning two images put together.  Mom and dad were ALWAYS right there!)  It’s one of my all time favorite pictures!  Meet Carson…

Gabriel Springs Wedding | Austin Wedding Photographer

The more years I shoot, the more inquiries for weddings I get.  At first I didn’t want to do weddings but the more I do, the more I actually enjoy everything about them.  They are longer than any other session I will ever shoot but they are probably the most valuable photos I will ever shoot.  They are the very beginning.  Beginnings to families, maternity and newborn photography.  It starts right here with weddings!  This wedding was a joy to shoot, not just because it was family but the staff and place of Gabriel Springs was gorgeous to shoot at.  This is just part 1 of this wonderful wedding and the reception will soon follow.
